Event Description:

Our second annual One District, One Read will be a celebration of the poetic works of Kwame Alexander.

 

Kwame Alexander is a poet, educator, and the New York Times Bestselling author of 25 books. A regular contributor to NPR's Morning Edition, Kwame is the recipient of several awards, including The Coretta Scott King Author Honor, The Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Prize, Three NAACP Image Award Nominations, The NCTE Charlotte Huck Honor, and the 2017 Inaugural Pat Conroy Legacy Award. In the fall, we will follow up with ways to reflect on Mr. Alexander’s poetry at school, and the One District, One Read will culminate with a District Wide author visit and celebration of reading. Mark your calendar for October 1st!
